Redesign
Active Assurance
Active Assurance is one of the solutions under product Epic, it is a network monitor/ application monitor.

About Project
Overview
Active Assurance is a unifying multi-tenant Control Center, which provides a user-friendly web GUI where operations staff can set up and run on-demand tests and continuous monitoring, as well as view both real-time and aggregated result metrics.

About Project
Problem Statement
Users of our active assurance product need a way to efficiently monitor and ensure network performance, as the current interface is complex and difficult to navigate. This leads to frustration, increased learning curves, and inefficiencies in troubleshooting issues. Existing workflows are cumbersome, making it challenging for users to quickly gain insights and act on network performance issues.
Goal
By redesigning the product, we aim to create a more intuitive, user-friendly experience that allows users to easily access the information they need, streamline their workflows, and ensure network reliability with confidence.

System
User Centered Design
Throughout the design process, our primary focus was on enhancing the user experience by making the active assurance product more intuitive and accessible. We continuously put ourselves in the users' shoes, analyzing their current pain points and striving to simplify complex workflows.

Problems and Requirements
Below, I detailed the specific requirements provided by product management that shaped our approach to creating a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
"The previous user interface was cluttered, with limited space that made it difficult to display all functions when users handled multiple tasks in a single step. The new design must prioritize a streamlined layout, ensuring users can easily access core functionalities through a clean and organized interface. "
Larry Byrd
Senior Consulting Engineer Specialist
"Due to its complexity, new users found it challenging to quickly understand and use the product without significant training, which affected user adoption. Ensure that the new UI is responsive and offers a seamless experience across various devices."
Anders Bergsten
Director Product Line Management
"The overall visual design looked outdated, lacking modern design principles and making the application feel less intuitive and user-friendly. The redesign should focus on improving data presentation, making critical network performance insights easier to digest through better use of visual elements.โ
